One of the most significant factors of geographical marking is that it is demonstrating the resource and reliability of a product. Therefore, the honey products which do not carry National Geography sign emblem and Kars Honey logo cannot be marketed under the name of Kars Honey.

Goose Breeding and Goose Integrity Facility

The access of goose to domestic and international markets will be much easier by the realization of the operation of international airport building, investments in logistic center to be established in Kars and the railway of Baku-Tiflis-Kars and continues proceeding of the transportation network in the country.
Heating costs of the shelters for goose breeding in open area is much less than the shelters for other poultries generally.
The industry is not only suitable for the young labor force opportunity but also the female employment. Since numerous families in the region are engaged in this occupation, it is assumed that there will not be any problem to show up in finding experienced labor force.
Goose which have more physiological advantageous compared to the other poultries can adopt to the severe climate conditions in the region. Because they are more resistant to diseases, medicine costs are low, so these facts decrease the total cost in the end.
Meat Products (Charcuterie)
When it comes to bovine breeding in Turkey, one of the provinces to come to the mind firstly Kars has 505.324 bovine animals in 2017 according to the TUIK data. This increase alive animal presence paves the way for the investments of Meat Products (Charcuterie). Milk Products (Cheese Making) According to the official statistics, 573.221 tones of milk were produced in Kars in 2017 and almost all of this milk were used in kashar cheese and gruyere cheese in the province where pasteurized milk and yogurt making are not common. Kashar cheese is of high demand both in province and Turkey and Geographical Marking Certified Kars Kashar Cheese specifically is of an important preference reason throughout Turkey. All kashar cheese produced are sold easily; and the major problem of the business facilities engaged in kashar cheese making is in adequacy of raw material (milk) and its seasonality. Forage husbandry is carried out in the province mostly and cince the breeders can hardly afford for feed in the long winter months especially, they carry out the care, breeding, birth and milk production for the animals according to the seasons. Therefore, while the dairy farms can collect the milk amount they want easily in the spring, they have to operate under their capacities because the animals go to forage in summer and the milk production decreases in winter.
Despite of this negative impact of the climate, cheese production is carried out in compliance with both hygiene standards and market conditions within large capacity and modern facilities. There are supports of various institutions for especially R&D, innovation, branding, different marketing methods and Kars provides a great potential for these facilities which can carry out such applications.
